FOSTER 911 - We are in dire need of FOSTER families or our ability to save the lives of the dogs waiting on us is limited.  With the flooding in WV we have pulled many dogs displaced in the storm and its aftermath.  Now is the time to foster if only as a 911 Foster family...we need you!
We are calling all
FOSTER's we are in need of new foster families to continue allowing us to save lives.  Please, please go to our "Get Involved" tab and check out our Foster Program.  If you are interested please complete our Foster Application found on the "Adopt" tab!
Foster's are our most cherished volunteers.  Without foster families we cannot save lives!

It is Time for our own Sanctuary...

For Otis Sake has experienced intense growth over the past almost 2 years. We have saved hundreds of lives, we have made a difference in our community, we have formed strong bonds, we have educated others and we have learned. Oh boy, have we learned.

Our platform is unique - we do not shy away from the tough cases. We focus on rescuing from high kill rural shelters. We formed a partnership with Hospice to help place the pets of patients that are in their 11th hour.  This Sanctuary will not be a "normal" shelter this will be a true transformational home for those that need us the most.

It is time.  Time for us to step outside of our comfort zone. Time to spread our wings and make a leap of faith. Time for us to be an even stronger voice for those that have none.

We have found a property suitable to set up a physical location. A sanctuary where we can continue our work. A place where we can care for the animals deemed "un-adoptable" - seniors, rare and tough medical cases, palliative care. A physical location where we will have the ability and room to save more dogs and to focus on their rehabilitation.

And to do that - we need you. We need your help to secure the down payment on the property. If every single supporter on our Facebook page would donate just $10.00 - just once. We will reach our goal!!

It is time. And the dogs need you.

Please click on the below link to read more of our story, more about our dream and to make a donation. You can also donate via the DONATE button on all tabs of our website.

We love all of our supporters and know that we could not do the work we do without you!  If you prefer to mail your donation please email lauriebrewer@forotissake.org for our mailing address.

This guy below is just one of the senior "unadoptable" dogs that would not be here without rescue.  He is our forever foster and will be a part of our family as long as we are blessed to have him.  He came to us with horrible teeth (fixed), a spleen that had to be removed due to a hemangiosarcoma, allergies and a few other ailments all that have been treated.  What we did not realize is how much joy and love he would bring to the FOS family.  He has women that cater to him 24/7 and a social calendar that is busier than most of us.  He is a mascot for a baseball team that just won districts (pics below), he is our personal mascot as well as friend to many.

Don't Miss out on our "Dog of the Week" - Claire
Our beautiful Claire is 8 months old, silly, loving, full of joy and has so much fun with other dogs.  She is wonderful with children and simply wants to be close to her family.  She has grown and learned so much in her foster home but it is her time to shine on her own.  This lovely lady is house and crate trained.  She is spayed, current on all vaccinations.  She is ready for her furever family.  We believe she is certainly a Hound mix but her markings are so unique we are not certain of the type of Hound.  She is very smart and outgoing!

See more about Claire on our ADOPT Tab.

Coming Soon to For Otis Sake:
These adorable hounds will be making their way to us over the next few weeks.  We were asked to help these Texas hounds as they do not do well finding homes in that area.  We also agreed to help Patsy Cline the beautiful new mother of 4 puppies (Hound/Bloodhound) mixes.  If you are interested in any of the kids below please get your applications in soon!

Loretta Lynn
Patsy Cline
All dogs below have been adopted!  Yay kids...Happy Trails!!

1Cooper came to us from Texas, nervous and unwilling to eat but he has truly come out of his shell.  This guy landed the perfect home...and he is the center of their world.  One lucky family has found the perfect boy and Cooper has his Happy Ever After.

is a 4 year old Treeing Walker Hound who did not have a great life before arriving here at For Otis Sake.  He lives with 6 other dogs in his Foster Home, he loves kids, cats and dogs.  He is beyond gentle and loving.  Would do great in a high energy or low energy home as he quickly acclimates to his environment.  He loves to lay in the sun or just cozy up in bed.  He will make an exceptional dog for a family!  Loves attention...a simple and silly Hound is what you will find with this boy.

Big Tom Sawyer is still looking for love and we hope he soon finds a family that deserves him.  He is an exceptional 1.5 year old English Hound who loves everyone!  Great with other dogs, kids, cats do not appear to be an issue either.  He is a skilled dancer, great cuddle buddy, loves to lay in his bed (especially is you cover him with a blanket)!  He is neutered, current on vaccinations, house and crate trained.  If you are looking for a great dog this guy is for you!

Leah is an 11 week Brindle English Mastiff mix who is absolutely adorable.  All other siblings have been adopted but this sweet little girl waits.  She loves other dogs, cats, kids and basically everyone.  She will be about 80 lbs full grown as she is a mix.  Her markings are as beautiful as her personality.

ADOPTED - Stella is such a beautiful girl.  She suffered severe neglect at only 1-year old and came to us with horrible skin as a result of poor care and nutrition.  Well she looks amazing now and is ready for her FUREVER home.  She is housetrained, crate trained, loves kids, great with other dogs and seems indifferent with cats.  She is going to steal your heart from the moment you meet her and whomever adopts her is in for a life of fun, happiness and loyalty.

is a handsome, young hound who is beyond handsome, sweet and silly.  Great personality, loves other dogs, kids and loves his toys!  This guy is going to be a wonderful family dog and will do great with an active family!  The below pictures show him before (in the dreaded "shelter") and after in his wonderful foster home!  Amazing what a difference a few days make in the lives of an abandoned dog!

ADOPTED!!! - Queenie is available for adoption.  She is a petite full bred Shitzu with a wonderful disposition.  Loves other dogs, people, kids and has an adorable face!
ADOPTED!!! - Oh my our little Cheech is a firecracker!  He is active, slightly bossy and well has a big personality wrapped up in a 6 lb body!  He is adorable and would do best with a couple, single person but no small children.  We believe he may have been mistreated by teenage boys as he seems to be very protective of himself in their presence.  He is quite a sweet little guy and becomes attached to his owner quickly.

ADOPTED!!!  James has been adopted and these pictures tell the story!  Happy boy, Merry Christmas and a blooming love story with the neighbor dog!  We are beyond thrilled for Sir James.

Murphy is ADOPTED!   This handsome fellow found a wonderful home for the holiday's and he will be spoiled!  Murphy waited a very long time for the perfect family and he has won the lottery!

Larry has been adopted and he found a great family with a few feline friends!  This boy deserves this home and he is in for a fabulous journey with his new human sibling and wonderful parents.

Elsie is ADOPTED!!!   Elsie is all settled in with her new family and loving her new life, new family and celebrating Christmas in her FUREVER home.

ADOPTED to another wonderful family!  Our furkids have had a run of luck with finding the perfect family for each of their unique qualities!  Casey is a Miniature Dachshund who came to us suddenly when his owner became ill.  Unfortunately, his owner is no longer able to care for this little cutie with big personality.  He is funny, friendly, happy, loves to play, good with other dogs and has settled in well with his Foster family.  I suspect this little character will not be around for long.

Percy (aka Spirit) has found the family he was destined to be with and they love him as much as he loves them.  After only a short week in Foster he found his family and they are absolutely thrilled with this handsome, loving boy!  Happy life Percy...you are home.
